Kyle Dean Massey returns to the Gershwin 7/31
Kyle Dean Massey will return to the role of Fiyero at the Gershwin Theatre, beginning performances on July 31st. Richard H. Blake will depart the role that he has been playing for nearly 4 years on the 29th. Kyle Dean began Wicked on the 1st National Tour in June 2007 as an ensemble member and understudy for Fiyero. He remained with the 1st Tour for a year, and then joined the Broadway company of Wicked in the same track, where he remained for a year. He joined the cast of Broadway's "Next to Normal" for 3 months beginning in June 09, replacing former Fiyero, Aaron Tveit in the role of Gabe. He returned again to the ensemble of Wicked through the end of the year before joining the cast of "Next to Normal" again for over a year as Gabe. Next to Normal closed, and 2 weeks later he was back on the Gershwin Stage, this time as Fiyero. However, he only stayed for a few weeks. Richard H. Blake replaced him in March 2011. Kyle temporarily returned to the role in August 2011 for a 2 week time period. In November, he returned to the 1st National Tour as Fiyero for 3 months, joining Katie Rose Clarke, who he had appeared with on Broadway.
Wicked is the untold story of the Witches of Oz. Long before Dorothy drops in, two other girls meet in the land of Oz. One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery, and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious, and very popular. Wicked tells the story of their remarkable odyssey, how these two unlikely friends grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good. This blog was opened in June 2007, and won the Official Wicked Seal of Approval in August of 2009. I hope you enjoy it! Any questions? Email me! email@example.com
